Indian Vedic astrology is an ancient form of astrology that has been practiced since the Vedic period in India. It focuses on the analysis of the planatory positions in the birth chart of an individual i order to predict their future.It also takes into account the nine planets, their various permutations and combinations and their effects on an individual’s life.
The fundamental principales of Vedic astrology are based on the placement of the nine planets in the 12 zodiac signs.Each zodiac sign is further divided into nakshatras, or star constellations, which are all associated with particular planets.This combined with the position of the planet in the birth chart, is then used to analyze the individual’s life and predict their future.
There are 5 main parts of Indian Vedic astrology –
1- Rashi Chakra/ Lagna Chakra : This representation of the nine planets in the 12 zodiac signs. This is used to understand an individual’s predictions ,nature and character.
2- Navmansh Chakra : This is a subdivision of the Rashi Chakra, which is used to analyze a person’s marriage and relationships.
3- Prashna Chakra : This is a representation of the planetary positions at the time of question being asked .This is used to answer current and present questions and provide solutions.
4- Gochar Chakra : This is a representation of the transits of the planets through the zodiac signs.This is used to predict the future and make prediction about events that may take place.
5- Mahadasha Period : This is used to analyze the effects of the major planetory periods in person’s life.It is used to understand the influences of the various planets on an individual’s life.
Indian Jyotish ,also known as Vedic Astrology, is a complex system of astrology based on the science of mathematics and astronomy. It involves the study of celestial objects and their positions, as well as the analysis of various elements to make predictions about future. There are three main branches of Vedic Astrology:
Siddhanta ( Mathematical Astronomy), Samhita (Mundane Astrology), and Hora ( Individual’s Astrology). This three fold division is very fundamental to Vedic Astrology and we have the three types of rashi ( zodiac sign ) : Chara (Movable) , Sthira ( Fixed ) and Dwiswabhav (Dual ) signs. Further Rashis are divided in to male and Female type.
Another divison of Rashis is based on the basic Elements namely Fire( Agni ), Earth( Prithvi), Air (Vayu) and Water (jal)
